Iowa has a FIFTH season!

After such a cold and snowy winter, the thought of a fifth season – a chocolate season! – sounds pretty good at this point.  Well, in Algona, there IS a Chocolate Season.

In another great success story, Erika (Berg) Jensen and her husband, Brad, moved back to Algona from Omaha so they could open their two businesses.  Erika started her business, The Chocolate Season, in Omaha as an internet business about 3 years ago.  Brad has a photography business, specializing in weddings.  They opened their store in downtown Algona about 4 weeks ago.  Erika makes fresh chocolates: truffles, turtles, fudge, etc. as well as desserts such as cheese cake, brownies, cake, cookies…and more!

In this picture, the governor gets a run-down of all the goodies this Algona shop has to offer!

VERBATIM

The following passage is from Karen Fesler’s blog (Full post is HERE.) She was in attendance at yesterday’s Iowa Comeback Tour stop at the Hamburg Inn in Iowa City:

I was happy to see an energized and invigorated Terry Branstad campaigning in an Iowa- manufactured Winnebago camper today.  The next governor of the state of Iowa faces challenges that have not been seen in this state in anyone’s recent memory.   After a 12 year absence, I for one am pleased that Terry Branstad is willing to take on those challenges.
